Większość niemuzułmanów interesuje co wyznawcy islamu mówią podczas modlitwy. Poniżej prezentuję jak się wymawia podstawowy tekst modlitwy oraz co ona oznacza. Zastrzegam, że wymowa może nie być idealna, gdyż nie znam języka arabskiego, a tłumaczenia jest interpretacją tekstu oryginału. (Wymowa jest zgodna z językiem angielskim, więc "y" należy czytać "j", "w"->"ł", "j"->"dż", "sh"->"sz", "ee"->"i")

Most non-muslims wonder what believers of Islam say during their prayer. I present below how to pronounce the basic text of a prayer and also the meaning of it. Warning: the pronunciation may be different because I don't know Arabic and the translation is an interpretation of the original text.

Chwała Tobie, Boże i Tobie wszelka cześć. Błogosławione Twe imię i wywyższony Twój majestat. Nie ma innego boga prócz Ciebie.
Glory to You, O Allah, and Yours is the praise. And blessed is Your Name, and exalted is Your Majesty. And there is no deity to be worshipped but You.

A'uudhu billaahi minash shaitaan ar-Rajeem
Szukam schronienia przed szatanem, przeklętym u mojego Boga.
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the accursed.

Bismillaah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem
W imię Boga nieskończenie Litościwego i Miłosiernego.
In the name of God, the infinitely Compassionate and Merciful.

Al hamdu lillaahi rabbil 'alameen
Chwała Bogu, Panu światów.
Praise be to God, Lord of all the worlds.

Ar-Rahman ar-Raheem
Litościwemu i Miłosiernemu.
The Compassionate, the Merciful.

Maaliki yaumid Deen
Władcy w Dniu Sądu Ostatecznego.
The Ruler on the Day of Reckoning.

Iyyaaka na'abudu wa iy yaaka nasta'een
Tylko Ciebie wielbimy i tylko Ciebie prosimy o pomoc.
You alone do we worship, and You alone do we ask for help.

Ihdinas siraatal mustaqeem Siraatal ladheena an 'amta' alaihim Ghairil maghduubi' alaihim waladaaleen Aameen
Prowadź nas prostą ścieżką, ścieżką tych, którzy otrzymali Twą łaskę; nie ścieżką tych, którzy wywołują Twój gniew ani tych, zbaczających z prawdziwej drogi. Amen.
Guide us on the straight path, the path of those who have received Your grace;
not the path of those who have brought down wrath, nor of those who wander astray. Amen.

Daję świadectwo, że nie ma nikogo godnego uwielbienia oprócz Boga i daję świadectwo, że Mohamet jest Jego sługą i posłańcem.
I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.
